Hey all,

I wanted to send a quick reminder that some of the early validation tag order deadlines are coming up next Thursday, August 19, 2020 at 12:00 Noon for fall heifer validation and Major Lamb/Goat Validation.  Please be sure to get those orders placed online or post-marked on August 19^th.  This will be the same due date as State Fair and Heart of Texas entries.  We also wanted to remind you of some of the local livestock show updates for Bastrop and Elgin.  Remember to make an appointment to drop items off at the County Extension Office 😊

Major Livestock Show Validations:

• All Details posted on our Livestock Show & Validation Page: https://bastrop.agrilife.org/livestock/
• Physical Validation Dates (location TBA):
  • Major Heifer, Lamb, & Goat Validation: Tuesday, October 27, 2020 (starting at 5:00 PM – time slot required)
  • Major Swine Validation: Tuesday, November 17, 2020 (starting at 5:00 PM – time slot required)
  • If anyone has conflicts with the dates, they will need to let us know ahead of time and as soon as possible (no later than 3 weeks prior to the validation)
• Prices/Due Dates:
  • $20 each early tags
    • Due by 8/19/20: Early Heifer, Lamb, & Goat Tags
    • Due by 9/16/20: Early Swine Tags
  • $30 each late tags
    • Due by 9/23/20: Late Heifer, Lamb & Goat Tags
    • Due by 10/14/20: Late Swine Tags

  • Please remember that the meeting attendance requirements have been suspended for the 2021 show; however, families are still expected to be aware of the schedule, rules, and other requirements normally communicated at the meetings.
