Texas 4-H Virtual LEAD Academy The format of the 2020 Texas 4-H Virtual LEAD Academy will offer concurrent workshops over the course of two-days focused on these topic areas. Unlike the face-to-face event, this year’s Virtual LEAD Academy will be offering workshops targeting Intermediate and Senior Age 4-H members along with Adults. Howdy all, Recently, Bexar County was given the wonderful opportunity to participate in a National 4-H grant that has been sponsored by Toyota. The goal of the grant is to train teen youth Leaders to become STEM ambassadors (we're calling them "Game Changers") in their communities. Along with this grant, we have received National Youth Science Day kits to administer to these teen leaders as well as some funds for a field trip (once we are allowed to resume contact). Bill Submission Requirements Any 4-H member, regardless of age or planning on attending Texas 4-H Congress, must submit a legislative bill for consideration. Participation in the bill writing exercise allows 4-H members the opportunity to become engaged in the legislative process and the 4-H citizenship project. 4-H members attending Texas 4-H Congress will be required to submit at least one bill (this includes Texas 4-H Council, Tech Team, etc) prior to their registration to the event being accepted. The Train Like A Champion Show is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The event has been modified the event to make sure safety procedures are observed and everyone is kept safe. They will NOT offer an indoor clinic this year. They are still offering the showmanship clinic/workout, showmanship contest, and the prospect show. Texas 4-H Dog Show The state 4-H dog show is held each year in July, and offers classes in agility, rally, obedience, costume, tricks, drill, showmanship and conformation. Some counties host 4-H Dog Shows. These contests will be publicized on this page and through e-mail as information becomes available.
